Exec Spotlight: Megan McCrory

Hometown? Daphne, Alabama

Major/Minor? Double major in Biology and Political Science, with a minor in Spanish

What is your favorite quote? From the Optimist Creed: Promise yourself… to be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Who is your biggest role model? I absolutely love Duchess Kate Middleton; she is the epitome of class, poise, and graciousness, and her kids are absolutely adorable!

What is your favorite thing about Alpha Chi? My favorite thing about Alpha Chi is *excuse my cheesiness* the girls in this sorority! From the very start, everyone couldn’t wait to start making friends and do this adventure called college together! I have always heard that you really find your people in college, and I am so blessed to have found so many girls that have impacted my life for the better and inspired me here in Alpha Chi. There is really a special community of girls here, and in the past two years, I have enjoyed more treasured moments with these girls than I could have ever hoped for! Each girl brings something special to the table, and it’s a beautiful combination of all different types of girls that make this place feel like home! I wish I could find the right words to say how grateful I am for this AXO family!

What is your favorite part about being on the executive board? Getting to serve the house on the Exec Board for these first few months has already been a much more rewarding experience than I expected! I am thankful for the opportunity to get to enjoy Alpha Chi on a more personal level by getting to dive into the Ritual and our traditions. I love seeing how even though Alpha Chi has been around for so long, it still provides enriching and rewarding experiences to its members. I also love getting to connect with a wide variety of people; this has given me the chance to befriend more girls than before, and it’s wonderful to see that even though we are all so different, we have this amazing thing that ties us all together. Getting to be a part of that sisterhood is such a blessing!
